First Lady Kandence Y. Battle's Biography
Jesus said to him , “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes “.
Meet Kandence Y. Battle and you’ve met a true friend, who’s Loyal, encouraging, funny, a great listener and most of all a Woman of God.
Kandence was born July 10, 1970 in Walterboro, SC to Haskell Fields and Kathaleen Fields Payton, whom she loves and cherishes as their only child born to them. She obtained her early education through High School in South Carolina, various other states as well as in Hanoi, Germany due to her mothers military career. She furthered her education at Benedict College in Columbia, S.C until she decided to begin a family.
In December 1993 she moved to Michigan where nurturing a strong family as it grew was her priority. Her family grew to five beautiful children, Kerrell, Jaque’, Jhannelle, Kellie and Wesley. At this time she began a career with United Airlines where she was employed for over twenty years until she retired. Also during this time while raising her family, working full time , God gave her the vision to start a business, “Royal School of Elegance” where she empowers children with skills and confidence in the areas of Manners and Etiquette. Due to her passion and love of children the business is still growing.
On April 7, 1996 Lady Battle rededicated her life to God through Baptism and joining Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, MI. under the leadership of the late Dr. Rev C.L. Crews. She was a member there for many years faithfully and obediently seeking God and giving her children a spiritual foundation. Later on she joined Christian Inn Missionary Baptist Church, Detroit, MI. led by the late Rev. John Mitchell. As an active member of the church she was the Pastors favorite soloist and also assisted with the youth choir.
Lady Battle relocated to Las Vegas, NV in 2015 and a year later met her love Pastor Corey G. Battle (Honey, as she often refers to him) and they soon married on July 9, 2017. With this union God Blessed him with five children and her with one, Alexuis. Their family of six has increased with two beautiful grandchildren, MaKenzie and Kenyon Jr.
With much prayer and fellowshipping with other churches, Pastor and Lady Battle joined Greater Carver Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James McCool. In 2019 God gave the command to Pastor and Lady Battle to organize “Great Commission Baptist Church”. Faithfully, obediently and most times with very little they served the community and spread God’s word. On January 26, 2020 Pastor Battle was called to serve as the 16th Pastor of “First Missionary Baptist Church”, Whitewright, TX. As a confirmation from God that was clearly stated scripturally from Matthew 25: 21-23 they answered the call and obediently relocated to Texas.
Lady Battle will continue to walk alongside her husband always willing to assist the church in any capacity. As she walks in the wisdom and favor of God she doesn’t just sit to be waited on but to serve and help others.
